Id#: 4 Name: Vladimir | Dear city recreation representatives, my name is Vladimir Venegas and I live in Pierrefonds since 2008, before I used to live in Dorval and soccer, Tennis and other sports were very expensive to play and specially to learn. Since we'd moved to Pierrefonds I'd practiced soccer at Catalogna Soccerplex. I had 2 kids in 2010, Mark and Mandy (twins), who love sports and had the great opportunity to play soccer, basketball, swimming, skating, sky just to mention some of them. I personally love soccer since I'm from Peru but since my kids have started learning tennis with David, I found that they loved it so much that I'd decided to register myself in order to help them to improve faster. They both promised me that they will manage to finish their homework and music classes on time in order to continue playing Mini-Tennis in the winter as well. I'd cancelled my soccer league participation to continue learning Tennis with David since I'd found amazing and supper interesting and challenging, I'd realised Tennis is not just hitting the ball with the raquet but right technique, good skills and a lot of concentration. David is not a teacher but he is a master because he doesn't just teach us the techniques but he show us tricks, he encourage us not to give us and he is always motivate us not just to learn how to play tennis but to become top players and very competitives. He encourage fairplay and discipline to improve fast and we all feel great about the quick progress in such a short periode of time we are playing Tennis. Yes, there are people waiting to play Tennis because they see us and they like how we are improving, many people sit outside the court just to see us practicing. It is a motivation for everybody, no matter the age, or the origines, no matter the financial situation because these courses are very accessible to everybody. please!!!!!!!!!!!!, don't cancel these courses, this is the best opportunity for our kids to find their way about what they love the most as a sport, as a hobby, they have many friends in the course and they love David. He has become a part of our life because these groupes became friends and we are all in touch with each other, we have communication almost everyday and we are all convinced that the Tennis courses activities in Pierrefonds are a treassure for us and for our kids and we all want you to know that we believe in you and we just want you to listen to not just some people who complain but to listen to all the city. We are kids, teenagers, fathers and mothers who love Tennis and who are happy to live in Pierrefonds because our city representatives listen to us and do whatever it takes to support and respond to the needs of the community; in this case I find that the best solution without going against the raison and the previous plans is to build more courts to accomodate the amazing demand of Tennis cappabilities and allow your neighbors to keep moving, in shape, in health and happy. With the right support, we can do everything!!!!!!. Thank you Pierrefonds!!!!! |
Id#: 6 Name: Tania | Good day, I was surprised, confused and deeply disappointed to hear that a decision to cancel tennis was made without considering how many students are benefiting and enjoying their sessions. A few people complained that they didn't have room to play. This is in large part due to Covid. Everyone was looking for something to do outdoors because everything was shut down. I believe that this was an exceptional situation and was never a problem before. Now that things are opening up, those few that complained may not even show up at tennis courts at all anymore. Restaurants and movie theatres are now reopened; they may not show up to play at all! Those that will continue to show up are those that were part of the club, taking lessons and enjoying the sport. And I am here to tell you, we much rather have organized lessons, we want our kids to learn proper technique. Finally consider how many people are registered compared to how many people complained! If there are many more people happy with the courses you must keep it going! Those few that complained must learn that just because you complained, it doesn't mean you get what you want. Thank you for reconsidering. We look forward to another fun season! |
Id#: 7 Name: Shan | This is one of the best sports events we have in west island for adults and kids and it is a great tragedy to see this cancelled. And single handily helps improve the tennis abilities of so many including teaching friend and family the lessons learnt in class. We learn lessons that last a lifetime that go beyond just tennis. Please bring back this invaluable training |
Id#: 8 Name: Babak | Hi, As a trainee at Pierrefond Tennis club, I enjoyed a lot playing with people there and I would like to continue the tennis course this summer. I believe people need to learn to play to be able to use the tennis courts later to play with their friends. So, without learning playing tennis, people wont be able to use the courts in their area and they would be useless. |
Id#: 9 Name: Natalia | This tennis program has been a lifesaver. My 2 kids joined in 2021 and love the sport. My 6-year old never excited about any sport before, but since he joined this class, he can't wait to go!!! He is so enthusiastic about tennis that he asks me to take him practice to get better and better. David is not only a coach for my kids, he had built a tennis community where parents are also encourage to learn and practice with their kids. I wanted for so long to go back to practice this sport, and finally I was able to do so with David and meet people that are also passionate about it. For those reasons, I don't understand how the city of Pierrefonds can't allow tennis classes to continue at Park Grier. The best way to encourage kids to play sports is to teach them how to play and practice, otherwise they get discourage and quit. Also, tennis classes in the summer are very affordable as an alternative to summer camps and allow kids to really get better at it. I live a couple of blocks away from park Grier and i could see the courts empty most of the time during the weekdays unless there is a tennis class. Cancelling our tennis classes in hope that there is more available courts to play, it will mean that the city is willing to sacrifice 270+ students for just a few people that complained about not having a court available at the only time they came to play. The city needs to work for the community and it's very disappointing to see how the city doesn't support the tennis community. I hope the city reconsiders its decision. |
Id#: 10 Name: John | I had both my children registered in the Royal Pierrefonds Tennis Academy, and they absolutely loved it, and were able to advance in tennis at a much faster rate than if they had just been going to the court and trying to learn themselves. David Pealow, along with the other assistant teachers, were excellent with the kids, teaching them respect, perseverance, and discipline on the court. I was eager to register them for even more sessions this Summer. However, I've just found out that the club is currently being told that they cannot continue their activities! To think that, after 20 years of the club existing, that all this will be taken away is absolutely despicable. There were easily over 250 children divided amongst the multiple classes per week, and during a time where COVID is restricting what we can do, outdoor recreation is absolutely paramount! For them to be told that these types of classes, where they will learn and be able to improve their tennis skills for years to come, will be taken away all because of what I can only assume was a few people complaining they didn't have time on the courts, is absolutely disgusting. As usual, the vocal minority is taking something that's fantastic for the majority and trying to destroy it. In addition, if people are complaining they don't have enough court time, build more courts! Do not sacrifice the learnings of the younger generation for people who have nothing better to do but complain instead of trying to find constructive solutions. I see all these renovations happening in Grier Park (New turf/fencing for the soccer field, new bocce courts that I never see anyone using at all, additional ice rink surface area in the winter), but the Tennis courts, which are seeing more use than ever (largely in part thanks to the Royal Pierrefonds Tennis Academy), can't get expanded? It makes no sense. If nothing is done here, I will absolutely never again vote for Jim Beis or anyone who represents Ensemble Montreal. I will also make it a point to tell every person I know that the city's current administration doesn't care about children and recreation, and will put petty complaints above building an active future generation. Sincerely, John Tsoupanarias |
Id#: 11 Name: Ivanka | Hello, my name is Ivanka Terzieva and I have been attending the Royal Pierrefonds Tennis Academy adult classes since last summer 2021, continuing in the winter mini-tennis club also organized by David Pealow. My daughter Sofia also enjoyed the class last summer. For me tennis was always this dream sport that is accessible only to few fortunate people who could afford to pay for private lessons. David changed this perspective for me, his classes are affordable for everyone, I became a keen learner and inspired the rest of my family to join too. When I learned about David's program for adults, I was very hesitant, but what I discovered once I started is a community of people loving the sport because of the way David's program is structured and all the fun and joy we have learning the game. David is so devoted to the development of his students that he personally gives guidance to everyone and makes sure that we understand and cares about our success and failures with the same passion. He has volunteered his time and equipment to organize the mini -tennis club so we can continue training throughout the winter. He had no financial interest to do so and it shows how much he cares for the popularization of the game in the West Island community and the extend he is going to serve this community. I am really hoping the City of Pierrefonds will reconsider this decision and will allow the lessons to continue, the Royal Pierrefonds Tennis Academy is open and affordable to everyone so people that would like to play can only benefit from classes staying opened since it is the best way to improve their skills and find great playing partners. |
Id#: 13 Name: Tianhao | This is one of the best sports events we have in west island for adults and kids and it is a great tragedy to see this cancelled. To learn Tennis elsewhere is very expensive. this program allows our children to learn play tennis with affordable price. |
Id#: 14 Name: Kyla | This would have been my sons first year playing tennis. He was so excited and the times worked perfectly with our schedule. He is so disappointed that he will not be able to start playing this year. I had also registered myself to refresh my skills and be able to start playing with my son. Please reconsider your decision |
Id#: 15 Name: Andrea | I'm very sadden that the city has decided not to allow the junior tennis program to continue at Grier Park. My 9yr old daughter has been participating in the program for the past 2yrs and was very much looking forward to continuing to develop her skills this summer. I strongly hope the city will reconsider their position. I watched many kids enjoy themselves over the past 2yrs. It was nice seeing everyone outside being active. We are upset and frustrated that we have to look for another venue for my daughter to continue practicing a sport she loves. Currently in the West Island there are very few places that offer organized tennis lessons and my daughter is worried she may have to give up the sport. I hope something changes and the program is allowed to continue. |
Id#: 16 Name: Jane | So disappointed by the city of Pierrefonds to cancel access for these important tennis lessons. There will be many disappointed kids and adults alike. We have thoroughly enjoyed the lessons provided and were looking forward to continuing our three kids in tennis lessons. A fun summer sport encouraging physical activity and an outlet for learning and interactions for the kids! Montreal has great potential for tennis stars and this is so discouraging that they are not supporting the club and community members who are part of the club. I hope the city will reconsider! |
Id#: 17 Name: Liliana | My son loved his tennis classes. And I loved he enjoyed moving. I hope the issue can be solved and the city can offer classes during summer. Thanks David for all your great work!!! |
Id#: 18 Name: Elizabeth | We are so disappointed in hearing this news. My son was so excited to start tennis this year. It's extremely hard to find an affordable tennis lesson with such positive reviews. We hope this decision will be reversed so that we may experience what so many others have raved about. This decision impacts so many people. I'd be interested to know how many people have actually complained. Funny how after 20 years of existence, the club is suddenly a problem for residents. |
Id#: 19 Name: Ludmila | Dear city, my daughter Diana has been going to tennis with David for the third year and always wait for training days. In the summer I am present at all trainings and see how all the children are having fun. David and his team are very good coaches and always pay attention to each of the children. Please allow children to play tennis and enjoy. Thank you in advance, Best regards Ludmila |
Id#: 20 Name: Riham | I am so disappointed that tennis lessons are cancelled after finally finding a coach who is really professional to teach our kids to reach maybe the Olympics. I come from a country where our kids if sent to get lessons in any sport it's really serious lessons in soccer, swimming, squash....etc Was surprised when we immigrated to Canada that it's just for fun so actually our kids learn nothing coz it's recreational, even in professional sports, we paid a lot but was also a kind of recreational. I was really excited to send my son to learn Tennis with David who is a real coach like those in my country but seems that having just fun in this country to please few people who complained is more important than spreading the sport in a professional way to teach young children. I hope that the city members reanalyse the situation and reconsider it. |
Id#: 21 Name: Rina | I am so incredibly sorry to hear this news! My daughter has only been a part of this club for a year and was excelling and loving the program. Not only was this accessible to all and very close to home, it was also very affordable. My 6 year has been begging me to play he was finally eligible this summer and looking forward to it. He was so sad to hear that he will not. David is a passionate coach who wants the children to love tennis as much as he does. This is a huge loss for the children, the community and the future of tennis. Thank you. |
Id#: 22 Name: Bob | Pierrefonds can be very proud of this highly appreciated tennis program. I have played at the club for at least 10 years. Its been regular exercise and fun to play with a group of sometimes a dozen or more players, two evenings a week, from 8 to 10 pm. We play on two courts or if a quiet evening just a single court. If someone cannot make it, its not a problem because the rest of the group is still there. We play from April to November, as long as the courts are dry. By the time we leave for the day at 10 pm the remaining courts are usually empty. Its remarkable how every year large numbers of kids show up to start learning and actually playing tennis with others their own age. That is 100% more fun and effective then even a private tennis lesson. Adults also return year after year to play at the club and to take some of the lessons offered. This is important to improve skills and to maintain an interest in the sport. Players do come and go. However getting new players in the twice weekly round robin group has never been difficult. These mostly come from the drop-in tennis players. They see we are always there playing and as the sign on the door welcomes everyone to join, they join. |
Id#: 23 Name: Ozlem | Hi Coach David, I really enjoyed my time while I was taking tennis lessons with you. King's court was a blast. My sons have been trained for several years. I hope that you will be able to organize your lessons again soon. Good luck. Have a lovely summer. Ozlem |
Id#: 24 Name: Yan | Good day, I was huge surprised and deeply disappointed to hear this bad news to cancel tennis program was made without considering how many people have registered, who live in pierrefonds. we much rather have organized lessons, we want our kids to learn proper technique. The tennis coures only use 2 courts of 4. I'm confused why to cancel the tenis coures just due to some complaint. Could I ask if the city did the full investigation and respect the opinion of the majority. Finally, pls consider what the majority! We look forward to another fun season for our kids in Pierrefonds! Yan |
Id#: 25 Name: Chunchao | It is very disappointing to hear that the city has decided to stop this program. It is a great program for the kids to learn tennis with a good teacher. Tennis is such a great sport. And David is providing an organized, structured program for the kids and adults to learn and to enjoy, at such affordable price. My kids were looking forward to the new season, but now I have to break the news to them. I cannot understand the decision of cancelling it. |
Id#: 26 Name: Maxime | The decision to cancel the tennis program by the Roxboro-Pierrefonds city officials is not only appalling, it's a complete disgrace. This would have been my 3rd year and I have 2 children enrolled in the program. As a Pierrefonds-Roxboro citizen and tax payer for the past 13 years, I am shocked and angry. Covid has made it very difficult and challenging to keep children involved in sports. Furthermore, this situation has had negative impacts on the mental health, motivation and overall wellbeing of kids. We need more local sport programs, not less. Thanks again for your consideration and your direct involvement in sabotaging a great program. Looking forward to the next elections! Maxime |
Id#: 27 Name: carmen | Good day Pierrefonds City Council, In times when children, teens and adults need exterior activities to exercise, boost the inmune system and re-gain social abilities, what is the reason for the sudden cancellation of the Tennis Program? My children and I have attended classes at Parc Grier for a couple of years. David and his staff are very professional and make Tennis affordable and easy to learn and enjoy. I ask you to re-consider your decision as this affect many families. Thank you, Carmen Guija Resident of Dollard-des-Ormeaux |
Id#: 28 Name: Suzanne | The decision to cancel the tennis program by the Roxboro-Pierrefonds city officials is not only appalling, it's a complete disgrace. My 11 year old was so looking forward to learning to play tennis. His older brother already took this program and loved it. We are so disappointed, he so needs physical exercise and has not found anything that interests him except for tennis which you are taking away from him. |
Id#: 29 Name: Sean | I am so disappointed in the cancellation of our tennis lessons for our kids. Our kids where so looking forward to learning how to play tennis. Covid has made it very difficult and challenging to keep children involved in sports. Furthermore, this situation has had negative impacts on the mental health, motivation and overall wellbeing of kids. We need more local sport programs, not less. You are hurting our children! |
Id#: 30 Name: Lorraine | This club is working very well. If it closes it will be greatly missed by the community. As an adult member at this club for many years its been wonderful playing evenings twice weekly in the club's organized round-robin group. Great exercise and it is much more sociable then tennis where you come to play only with people you already know. |
Id#: 31 Name: Esther | My son has participated in RPTA since last year. They have great programs. He is having lots of fun and has made huge progress. We expect that the city would continue to support these programs for the youths. It would be very sad if the city does not provide the courts. |
Id#: 32 Name: George | This tennis program is so good !! Never seen such a well coordinated lesson and attention to technique ! The kids all have great fun and improve incredibly fast ! For the city to cancel this program show mass stupidity !! |
Id#: 35 Name: Nick | It is very good tennis program, well organized and all kids enjoy for the sports. The city of Pierrefonds should give all possible support to such activities! |
Id#: 36 Name: Anne | To whom concerns, My son started to play tennis this winter, it is great sport for our long winter here, and it is in his school gym, he loves it and it is so conviennet for us, we live is pierrefonds since 2008 and it is a pleasure to see every summer kids and adults playing in the tennis court, we always wanted to send our kids to this tennis lessons, and finally this year one of my kids is big enough to play and his sister is looking for her turn, I really dont want to dispoint my kids by telling then that they cant play tennis anymore in their school gym, so please give the permision let this tennis class continue and is really good for the community Thank you |
Id#: 38 Name: Margaret | It is so disappointing to hear the the outdoor tennis programs at Grier Park have been cancelled. David Pealow had achieved so much in the sport both in junior and adult lessons. It does not make any sense that he has to look for another park to play in when we have a park right on our doorstep. It would mean that the children would have to depend on a ride, whereas here they can just walk to the park. Surely if there is a problem with booking courts, wouldn't it create the same issue at another park. If there was a shortage of courts here, it could be due to the fact that more residents were not travelling due to COVID restrictions, and they are staying home looking for local activities. Maybe now that a lot of restrictions have been lifted, and people are getting back into travelling again, there won't be the need for so many court's to be available. It would be great if the city could reconsider their decision and allow David to continue with his programs. |
Id#: 39 Name: Lei | Hello, we have participated the club over 2 years with lots of cherished memories. Unfortunately we heard we might not able to reopen in this season, we feel so sorry about this. We would like to take the chance to express our anxieties for this decision. Firstly we don't think the club has any down impact for the community neither any individual neighbors. While respecting the rule, everyone has the chance to enjoy the game. The opportunity is equivalent for every single family. Secondly to be frankly, living in Pierrefonds compared with other communities, it looks like we are some how with very limited community cultures, we don't have swimming pool, we don't have natural water park for kayaking.we have so much limited sports community which everyone should cherish and hold the hands to let it continue and growing but unfortunately we didn't see it. We really need the strong supports from the municipal government to foster the community culture and execute and demonstrate from leadership. Lastly we love living in Pierrefonds and we really hope our voices can be heard and we are looking forward to reopening the club this season very soon. Please consider. Thanks very much! |
Id#: 40 Name: J. | It looks like it's time to stop paying tax to the city as the needs of our men and women on the land are not being represented. And as our representatives, the city works for us - not the other way around. This RPTA is one of the best clubs I have participated in and cancelling organized tennis activities is a big disgrace. Jim Beis, you championed sports for many years... What happened to you? Whose decision is it to cancel RPTA's access to organized tennis? |
Id#: 41 Name: Xiaojie | I really can not believe this is happening, what an important mission to get kids interests in tennis. We just start our practice this season, and my son like to play with his new friends and has learned a lot from the coaches, but now it force to stop, and we do not know where to find such a suitable place to continue this sports, i am so disappointed on this issue! I hope you all can communicate well and strive to reach a satisfactory solution that all can accept! |
Id#: 42 Name: Marie | This is the only sport activity my daughter is interested in. She needs to do sports to keep a healthy weight as per her pediatrician's recommendations. She is looking forward to it and has been asking me all year long. Please I beg that you do not take it away. |
Id#: 43 Name: Akbar | I was surprised and confused and deeply disappointed to hear this decision by the city. There are alot of students were benefiting and enjoying their sessions.we just moved to this area 2 years ago and I was so happy to take tennis classes for my kids in this parc, 2 min walking from my home. I believe that this classes never made problems before. I would like to tell you that we want our kids to learn proper techniques in tennis and we would love to have this lesson in our community close to our houses. Last year we didn't have any problems with this court, i didn't register to learn tennis and we were playing freely, had no problem with the lessons. That's why I decided to register my kids to learn proper technics this year. Thank you for reconsidering and understanding our situation and our neighborhoods. We look forward to have the best tennis lessons in our neighborhood. |
Id#: 44 Name: Salib | Very disappointed that this program is cancelled this summer Please reconsider having this program it again |
Id#: 45 Name: David | This course is very convenient for both kid and adult and we had great time and chance to practice in the past years. We should keep it rather than cut it off |
Id#: 46 Name: Jiawen | It's a big shock when hearing the tennis program will be no longer permitted in Grier Park. My 6 years son love to play tennis and have had the tennis class there right from last summer. He love it as he can not only make friends there and also David is a really experienced and good coach. As Far as I know, actually a lot of kids live in other boroughs came to join the class for its good reputation. Also, for kids that are just beginners and with young ages, group class is a much better way that private ones. Last but not the least, it's really no sense if we only have the courts there but without any tennis club runs there. Our young kids need such a wonderful tennis club to begin. We can't just play it without any coaches. I don't know where to send my kids to every summer if it's closed. We really need it to open to our residents and we will all benefit from it much more. |
Id#: 49 Name: Carmen | Hello Borough committee, Last year after spending summer of 2020 with no physical activity available for the children we discovered this great sport called tennis that was safe to practice during this Covid-19 pandemic. Having a child with learning disabilities we discovered that tennis would give our child the right balance of physical activity and help with the anxiety of dealing with Covid and the restrictions. Tennis has given to children in our community social and psychological benefits, it has allowed children to keep active, stay fit and handle stress. In our case i have never seen my kids so interested and engaged into learning a sport as they are with tennis. I do not understand why the city is willing to remove the access to the courts to the Royal Pierrefonds Tennis Academy to offer lessons, it goes against the purpose of offering spaces for physical activity, what would be better than being able to learn a sport with the right structure and with people who are experienced, tennis is not like soccer that could be learned without a coach, tennis is a sport that requires technique and guidance. I ask mr Beiss: we are in May 2022, where are we supposed to take our kids for tennis lessons? At this point in time registration for summer lessons will no longer be available and especially with such family oriented schedule we had with RPTA where parents who work had the option of bringing kids to classes after working hours. What does the city need from Pierrefonds citizens to keep this activity running for many more years? I would like to see the city invest in building more tennis courts and other sports that are beneficial to all not just a handful of people, Pierrefonds has lots of landscaping available to continue building courts, mr Beiss what do the citizens of Pierrefonds need to do to get your attention on this matter? Thank you David for the wonderful job you've done teaching tennis to our kids! |
Id#: 50 Name: Fotini | We were very disappointed to hear that there will no longer be tennis lessons at Parc Grier. We live in the area and there is not many activities for our children in the summer in the neighbourhood. Both my children have been taking lessons at Royal Pierrefonds Tennis Academy since 2018 and are disappointed they cannot start this spring. There are four courts and David kept the lessons in the two courts. They were often unused. So this seems unfair that the borough decided to cancel the program. |
Id#: 51 Name: Patricia | As residents of Pierrefonds, and parents of children who very much enjoy the sport of tennis, we are very deeply disappointed by the short sighted decision made by our elected officials and their council to end the agreement that has allowed the junior tennis program to thrive at Grier Park. My children are incredibly disappointed to learn that tennis has been cancelled this summer. There are many, many, frequently unused tennis courts in the borough of Pierrefonds, something which my family discovered while 'testing out' all the tennis courts in the neighbourhood. It was exceedingly rare to be unable to play at the court we'd arrive at due to other tennis players. Skate boarders or people playing with their dogs off leash were more commonly taking up tennis court space than other tennis players, which makes this decision by the borough puzzling. This is just another disappointing decision in an unfortunate trend of many poor decisions made recently by the borough of Pierrefonds. I deeply hope the borough will reconsider their position, especially considering the most negatively affected party to this decision is the youth of the borough. I also deeply hope that this does not become a trend to cancel children's sports opportunities which use public space, such as baseball, soccer, basketball, football, ect. Those spaces are regularly being used by children's sports and unavailable for recreational use by residents. I sincerely hope that the borough of Pierrefonds will do the right thing, and reverse their decision to cancel tennis. |
Id#: 52 Name: Spencer | My son has participated in this tennis group activity since last summer. He is very happy to learn with the children. The coach is also very responsible. The fee is not expensive. I really hope to continue to learn tennis here. |
Id#: 53 Name: Celina | This is an amazing program that teaches the kids a sport that they enjoy for the rest of their lives. Even during a hard covid year, this program managed to invite a good amount of kids and share this sport to them. I dont think ending this program is a good idea since it affects so many kids and adults that would love to keep playing this sport every week with their friends and group in the club. |
Id#: 54 Name: Ho-Kuo | David, It is difficult for me to comprehend why the city is unable or unwilling to find a compromise. It doesn't seem to be so complex to find some middle ground that can provide time for both the club and the citizens. While my son has only had one summer with you, he progressed immensely and had a lot of fun doing so. You strike a good balance between setting the bar high (and instilling good discipline to achieve that bar) all the while making sure that it remains a fun game. I am not sure if Mayor Jim Beis is aware of the situation, but if he is, it would surprise me considering he has run sports and recreation for the city before. I hope you find another court that you can use this summer. Thanks for all your efforts. Ho-Kuo and Davis Chana |
Id#: 56 Name: Nicole | Dear Mrs./Mr., Its quite surprising news that Pierrefonds tennis class is going to end. It has served such a great platform to get kids start this creational activity, fun and sports. David certainly keeps a very important role to bring more and more kids playing tennis, and as well maintain their interests, some may eventually pursue higher level tennis play, some may be maintained as a creational activity to help parents motive kids to more open air, rather than sit in front of the computer. Without class, my kids will never started to play tennis. During the last one and half year, I can see my two kids grow more and more interest in playing tennis, and in particular going voluntarily to David's class to improve its skills instead of pushing from my side. I, as a parent living in Pierrefonds, strongly voice to have Pierrefonds tennis class been maintained, for kids in Pierrefonds, and for the future of our community in Pierrefonds. Thanks for your consideration! |
Id#: 57 Name: Rafouneh | I'm so shocked and disappointed by the city decision about canceling this family oriented program, for us not only my daughter was benefiting from it but also me and my husband had time to do something we love with a perfect team. I do not still understand why? so the city is taking this from us to be able to give it back to us(the courts!!!!). we were all having fun and learning new skills. Please bring back this training to us! |
Id#: 58 Name: leo | I am very disappointed to see this wonderful program been cancelled. to learn tennis is very expensive elsewhere. our children benefits a lot from this program! |
Id#: 59 Name: chunlan | as a citizen of city of Pierrefonds, I really hope the city can reconsider this. our children benefits a lot from this program! |
Id#: 60 Name: Sabrina | I am 13 years old, and I really hope I can learn tennis here. I am really sad to see this program been cancelled. Hope City of Pierrefonds can change the mind. |
Id#: 61 Name: Basma | This is one of the best sports events we have in west island for adults and kids. Please bring back this training |
Id#: 62 Name: Tony | My son registered the Pierrefonds Tennis class this year, he shows a great interest in playing tennis, I never see his enthusiasm in other stuff. David is quite nice coach, my son loves him very much. I am shocked when I heard the class will be cancelled due to no place to play. Please reconsider this decision and leave more fun for the children. Thank you. |
Id#: 63 Name: Kajina | I am very disappointed to hear from city of pierrefonds, this is fist time my daughter want to do tennis this year.i living 10 years in this city, l know one of the best place this tennis courts and also my daughter want to play this place. Id#: 64 Name: Kaihan | Kaihan Really enjoys very much Peierrefons Tennis class and he is improving well. I will be really so sorry if he can not continue these tennis classes as there is no comparable one at least in west of Montreal. I can just hope that these classes don't finish! |
Id#: 65 Name: Matteo | I have had to sign my son up for lessons in st lazare as it was only place that had lessons for his age. I will have to drive from pierrefonds to st lazare twice a week, then back to pierrefonds to bring him to daycare then back to Ile perrot for work. With the price of gas this is doesn't make sense. I don't understand how other cities are able to still have lessons and the time for people who want to use the courts |
Id#: 68 Name: Mark | It was an amazing program for our kids. I really do not understand the reason for it cancellation and hope city of Pierrefonds will regret about their decision. |
Id#: 72 Name: Manoj | This club have helped develop my daughters tennis skills from 0 to a considerable gaming value. Specially David and the mentors have ensured that each and every kid is improving. I am really thankful to David for same. I am really saddened after hearing that the city have asked to stop conduction the tennis classes it seems like City is more interested in very few residents who may or may not be eligible to vote but file a complain against not able to play tennis for 40 min or so. The club have more than 300 kids registered, and kids being the future compromising the physical development and developing interest to ward the game is really disappointing. I believe city should reconsider their decision and ensure that kids tennis program is not stopped or compromised. |
Id#: 73 Name: Cindy | It's very disappointed that the city has broken the oral contract for using the tennis court for our club. Our kids are losing the opportunity to learn a skill, to enjoy a loved sport, to do exercises and get stronger with a fantastic tennis coach. It is beyond logic that you stopped a 20-year program, and even there's no one is using the vacant tennis courts. Could you please kindly reconsider your decision, continue the tennis contract and bring the joy back to our kids. Thank you! |
Id#: 74 Name: Boris | My kids were and are participating in both badminton and tennis programs, run by RPTA & WIBC for more than 10 years already, and we're just lucky to have such a program available in our vicinity. This program has very profound and long lasting positive impact on my kids health and developing their physical and mental skills and abilities they use for their life. It was also of essential help especially during the pandemic, while all the world around was shut down and most of kids were confined inside 4 walls without any physical activities.. If city of Pierrefonds shuts our program down, in my opinion, it will be a slap in the face to all parents and kids who attend or plan to attend our community badminton or tennis program. I'm personally aware of other badminton and tennis clubs in West island, and my kids also attended some of them, and as I see it, they're not even close to replace our programs - neither from perspective of intensity and quality, nor from proximity and availability, if you leave west from St Charles Boulevard. Please, don't close it. |
Id#: 76 Name: Slimane | Make The tennis program for kids return back. They enjoyed it . |
Id#: 77 Name: Chunchao Yu | Both of my kids were learning Tennis with David. They enjoyed it and found their passion in tennis. David offers an organized tennis program at an affordable price. My kids were able to practice tennis a few times per week with David. It was very disappointing that the city decided to cancel the program. The courts are mostly empty during day time while people are at work. The summer tennis program can maximize the usage of the court and help the kids to get out of the house, be away from the computer games and learn a great sport with a skilled coach. |
Id#: 78 Name: Philippe | Greetings Pierrefonds Mayor and other authorities. I kindly ask you to reconsider your decision taken in 2022. With the increasing growth of technology, less and less people get this kind of opportunity to exercise in such an intensive sport with a fully qualified and spectacular coach. I know not of your reasons for dismissing such an activity which is for the benefit of the physical health of multiple children as well as adults. It may perhaps be possible to come to a beneficial conclusion for both parties instead of seemingly cancelling out such an important physical activity. Kind Regards, Philippe |
Id#: 79 Name: Wafaa | Please reconsider canceling the tennis lessons our kids are disappointed |
Id#: 80 Name: Ellen | I find it absolutely ridiculous that residents in Pierrefonds will need to look for tennis lessons in DDO or Pointe-Clair. David ran a very good tennis program and very importantly affordable for all families in Pierrefonds. However, my kids couldn't get proper training for three seasons due to the distance of going to another club and higher prices. That results in their loss of interest in the sport. I really hope that the program can be brought back to our neighborhood. |
Id#: 81 Name: Francesco | Hi, I would like to know where are you giving classes? I'm looking some classes in Park Grier or where are you? |
